I believe he's the son of Henry Sidgwick. The first edition, An Introduction to Greek Verse Composition, etc. (1882) [2nd & rev. ed. 1884] was based on an earlier work by Arthur Sidgwick, Greek Prose Composition (1876). Henry (1838—1900) was his older brother by 10 years. Their father was Rev. W. Sidgwick (d. 1841) headmaster of the Yorkshire grammar-school. Valete, John ===== John N.
