Here are the minutes from the last (wonderfully short) GBM on Tuesday, 16 November 1999, at 6:00 PM: *** OFFICER REPORTS... Laurel Hata, VP Service (lhata@u.washington.edu) The projects since the last GBM (on 2 November) went well; Mini gave a brief review of the University Heights project and Laurel gave brief review of the Center for Human Services auction. Sounds like both of the projects were successful - great job to those who organized these and participated in them! The new projects for the remainder of November and the beginning of December are as follows: - Friday Kitchen, 19 November (Fri) and 3 December (Fri). - University Heights cleanup, 20 November (Sat). - Woodland Park Zoo, 4 December (Sat). If you would like more information on these projects or would like to sign up, email Laurel. Also, many of the actives and pledges are doing well on their hours. Laurel recognized these members - keep up the good work, and for those of you who are a little behind, sign up for the above projects! (There will also be more in January, including the Pledge Project, so if you're feeling the crunch of finals and the holiday season, don't despair!) Sheeny Lan, Pledge Director (sklan@u.washington.edu) The Pledge Retreat was two weekends ago (5-6 November) at Buck Creek, and was a great success. We had fun, didn't we? Sheeny, you did an awesome job organizing the retreat! Next Tuesday, 23 November, at 6:00 PM, Pledge Meeting #4 will be held in good ole Savery 239. Actives, especially pledge parents, are encouraged to come as well! Michael Solberg, VP Membership (mjs20@u.washington.edu) Nothing to report. Francine Yoshioka, Treasurer (yoshioka@u.washington.edu) Nothing to report. Kimi Nakano, Secretary (kmnakano@u.washington.edu) Nothing to report. OLD BUSINESS... Region X/XI Conference Once again, all actives/pledges/alums are encouraged to attend this major event on 27-30 December here in Seattle! Contact Kelly (kellym@u.washington.edu) if you'd like more information or would like to register. After 26 November, the price goes up! NEW BUSINESS... Dinner and a Movie - 12/4 Take a break from studying for finals - come join us for dinner somewhere on the Ave and a movie. More details to come, but save the date (December 4)! HUB Traffic Count If you haven't already, sign up to count people traffic in the HUB tomorrow (17 November). The HUB will give us $8/hour in credit toward using the HUB for future meetings, projects, fundraisers, etc. If you have an hour (or more) to spare tomorrow, email Grant or Daylene (dmaughan@u.washington.edu) ASAP (cuz the thing is tomorrow). OPEN FLOOR... Cecily, our kick-ass historian, wants to know if any of you have pictures that you would like to be included in the APO scrapbooks. Um... these should only be pictures relating to APO (i.e. projects, ceremonies, fellowships, etc.). Anyway, if you do, email Cecily (ceciyang@u.washington.edu). ONIONS & ORCHIDS TOAST SONG *** That's it for me, guys. Thanks again for reading this far... Have a good turkey-day - stuff yourself silly! :o) In LFS, Kimi Nakano kmnakano@u.washington.edu .
