That may have suggested that the conflation occurred in literature.  It does
not appear to have.  Gantz' discussions are of the various representations
of the two deaths, including the artistic ones of their conflation.  The
clearest examples of the Priamos-Astyanax-Neoptolemos constellation appear
to be in a few Attic red-figured scenes, which include the vase on which
Astyanax is named.
