This may well be the year to move to some other search software. The problem is, however, that we are a multi-platform department--mostly Macs but with a few PC's scattered around. (I'm the dept. "Unitarian," who uses both a Mac and a PC.) So the purchasing of software could get kind of complicated, but now the dean has made noises about increasing our budget, and this may be the year to ask him to put his money where his mouth is. If this happens, I'll certainly let you know. As it is, a local shop took the unit apart and tried to realign the works. I have not had a chance yet to set the thing back up and see if it works. If it does, great. If not, well, then I talk to the dean, hat in hand. BTW, I met Frank Coulson at APA in December. We were on a panel together. He seems a very nice person, and one who does interesting work as well. Best wishes, M Mark F. Williams Classics Department Calvin College Grand Rapids, MI USA 49546 wilm@calvin.edu www.calvin.edu .
