so alynda, patrick and myself went to collegiate track nationals this past
week.  it was an experience.  the competition was unreal and the track was
way faster than marymoor.  alynda placed third in the 500m time trial and
got a bronze medal (very impressive given the caliber of riders).

myself, i pretty much got beat up on the whole week.  man those guys are
fast.  i beat my best times by quite a bit and was still not even close to
the top 5.  the points race was insane.  there were 40 guys so they broke
it up into heats.  in my heat, i was lucky enough to have guys like bobby
lea, who finished no worse than silver medal in EVERY event he did at
elite nationals.  anyways, the race was pretty much strung out the whole
time and somehow, people were still sprinting off the front of the already
fast pace.  i finished with the group which was an accomplishment but
didn't make the final.  oh well, next year i guess.

what was interesting though is that we would definately have a chance of
getting on the podium in the team events if we were to bring a full team
next year.
