If you are interested in learning about the daily activities of professionals within specific fields, this program is designed for you. Regardless of your present major, you can speak to a UWT graduate who has gained experience in the world of work or who has gone on to graduate school. The ASK Network is a group of UWT graduates who have volunteered to assist students and other alumni in their search for information about specific careers and graduate school. An ASK participant may schedule and informational meeting; invite a student to job shadow at their workplace; conduct a practice interview; or provide advice by telephone or e-mail. This is a great resource for building your network of contacts. Stop by the Career Center, BHS 105, to review the ASK file. Most alumni prefer telephone or e-mail for the initial contact, but some prefer to be contacted by letter. Some prefer to be contacted at home, others at their place of work. ASK is not a job placement service. Informational meetings are not job interviews. The purpose of ASK is to give students and alumni the chance to learn from the expertise of ASK participants. ASK connections may lead to specific opportunities, but students are asked not to confuse the initial contact with a job interview.
