I hadn't been checking my email at all which, although related to some issues of personal exhaustion, is really a poor excuse for lack of participation. So thanks to you all for working on the details of paperwork and publicity, and please excuse my absence. Kellie, thanks for handling this student organization stuff. I will sign the paperwork and leave a copy of my card, etc. in your box tomorrow (Monday). I hope that's not too late. I will also read through the constitution, which I'm sure is fine. Also, shall we get together to talk about the reading selections during this first week? Jeff, perhaps we can meld that meeting with a discussion of the next grant proposal? As far is the name is concerned, I realize this comment is a little late, but I also think we should stick with Transnational Studies Project. I believe we discussed the name at our last meeting and decided that "project" implied an ongoing, active endeavor. It's also a bit less cumbersome than some of the other options that have come up, and more inclusive as well. I don't think it's a problem if some of the publicity has a slightly different name, but we should probably stick with the original choice from now on (to avoid confusion with faculty contacts, etc.). Rahul, that's excellent that you've secured some more support and funding for the project--very good news. Todd, now that we have a date for Lisa Lowe, shall we all reconnect with our faculty contacts regarding funding? Thanks again everyone for your hard work and patience. See you next week!
