Ross Freeman joined American Rivers in November 2001 as a Conservation
Associate in the Northwest Regional Office, and serves as the in-house
General scientist and as science outreach staff. He provides ecological com=
ment and research on various projects occurring throughout the Pacific Nort=
hwest region, including WA State in-stream flow regulations, watershed plan=
ning, and
habitat conservation plans. He also works on dam-removal projects, stream r=
estoration and protection efforts, community riverfront initiatives, and co=
nducts GIS mapping for American Rivers' priority campaigns. On the Outreach=
 side, Ross organizes educational events and training workshops for citizen=
 activists, facilitates citizen lobbying on key river issues, issues citize=
n Action Alerts, and helps orchestrate timely media coverage.
