Construction Update on the Ave 4300 Block The street and curb are now paved to the intersection at NE 45th Street and the last sidewalk sections will be poured next week. The last few street trees, pedestrian lights, etc. are expected to be in by 3/7. Parking meters will be installed just prior to re-opening the block to vehicular traffic in late March. NE 45th Street The southern lane is finished; the center lane's southern half is being poured this week and the northern half will be poured next week. Re-paving of the entire intersection should be complete by 3/13. Signal poles and street lights will be installed at least on the two southern corners before the street is re-opened to traffic. This re-opening is expected the last week of March, but may occur sooner. 4500 Block Installation of new water services will continue through next week, requiring short water outages on a building by building basis. Notice of this work is given in advance by Seattle Public Utility crews. Installation of the new storm drains is also expected to be finished next week.Final grading and paving of the street is expected to begin 3/4 and continue for three weeks. Sidewalk paving is expected to begin 3/18 and should also require three weeks, but it is weather-dependent. Finish elements for this block are projected to be installed by mid-April. NE 47th Street Work will not start in this intersection until after NE 45th Street is reopened to traffic in late March. The intersection at NE 47th Street will be closed to all non-construction vehicles for approximately 10 weeks. 4700 Block Demolition of the street and curbs is expected to start as soon as NE 47th Street is closed, near the end of March. The water main (but not the gas main) will be replaced and new storm drains installed. New water services are expected to be completed by mid-May, and the streets and sidewalks completed by mid-June.
