Though it was not installed in an entirely thief-proof method (obviously), it was affixed to a piece of furniture and secured with an attached cord. Clearly the installation implyed the remote was not to leave that location. On Tuesday, January 18, 2000 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., someone cut the cord and stole the remote from the lounge. Just one full day of use and it was stolen. What a sad commentary. If you have the remote or know who does, please return it to the lounge, no questions will be asked. We can secure it again and hope that this is last occurrence of this type. Let me remind all students, YOU paid for this lounge. The Service and Activities Fee that you pay each quarter purchased every item, to include the remote which was stolen. Consequently, each of you have a stake in the success and appropriate use of this space. I encourage you to remember your part in this as you relax... eat, drink and watch TV in this wonderful space that your student government worked so hard to secure.
