We will face some real opposition this time, and it will take all we have to win. Anybody could have won last week-end, I don't think anything unfair happened. Take the road race on Sun, anybody could have joined the break, it was well-known it would happen, it was the logical place for it to happen (last hill before long tailwind section), yet nobody jumped with us (apart from Jubal - why didn't anybody join him?). So what I am saying is, that if I hadn't got in on the break, that Idaho guy probably would have sailed to victory by himself (that guy was strong indeed). I suggest we work as a team, as we did on the week-end (remember the first break with Rick, Jubal , me and two others? I felt sorry for the guys when all the UW guys sat up and let the pack catch us, so we could get more people up in the points.) Anyone can jump, initiate attacks, and we are going to help each other. I will make sure I communicate my plans well, so people are prepared. I do not believe in affirmatice action in racing, the strongest and smartest team will win. Remember, we are in it as a team, and I don't feel I won by myself, it definitely was a team effort. If the team feels that my presence is detrimental to the team's efforts, I will not go, and train for the Tour of Willamette instead. Jan .
