Hi, Didn't get to go to the workshop but I was in a meeting with administration yesterday to get a procedure established and questions answered. Debbie Fockler wanted me to ask the List Serve some questions. First, which office at your schools does Residency? It's handled by the Registrar's Office Second, which office handles the 1079 process? The Assistant Registrar (me). =09 Third, what is your timeline for students to return the Affidavit? To qualify for residency it must be completed within 30 days of the start of the quarter. Fourth, is this part of the admission process? If a student is entered as a non-resident (based on their application) they are sent a residency questionnaire and an affidavit. And last but not least, what is the latest information regarding Visa holders. We have had students in the past who were in high school and on dependent Visa's such as H2, J2, etc. As of this date none have requested an Affidavit. If they apply for admission, meet the requirements outlined on the affidavit and are willing to sign it they're coded as residents. We've had 13 complete the affidavit, only 2 have held visas. Thanks, Carol Hathaway-Pitts .
