This is news to me, but maybe not to the rest of you.  According to *The Story of Football*, rev. ed., by Dave Anderson (1997), p. 55, Green Bay Packer's coach Vince Lombardi began his coaching career at St. Cecilia's High School in Englewood, New Jersey, where he was also a Latin teacher.  Says Anderson:  "To their [sc. the Packer's] coach, once a Latin teacher at St. Cecilia's, coaching was teaching."
