The logfile /var/log/wtmp becomes wtmp.1 every month, but this is as far as the archiving goes. I'd like to keep my old wtmp files (and the other ones in /var/log/) without limit. Where is the setting for this stored? Also, my terminal goes blank after a short period (perhaps 5 minutes?). I'd like to change this. Again, where do I find this setting? Any advice is appreciated. And just as a sidenote to anyone interested .. if you don't run X at the console for some reason and want to change the font to something else (besides the usual 9x16 [or maybe 8x16] VGA font), become root and try: changechars -f /usr/lib/kbd/consolefonts/ [tab] The [tab] will (in bash anyways) give you a list of possible fonts. I really like t.psf.gz, iso06.f08.psf.gz and gr8x8.psf. The first two are for looks, and the last one (gr8x8) because you get an 80x50 text resolution. Oh, and this works on my RH6.0 install, I don't know about any others, though SuSE 6 I remember had this too. ~ Michal "If you continue running Windows, your system may become unstable." -- Windows 95 BSOD -- .
