Status information on the prototype is available at: http://www.ornl.gov/gist/landscan/landscan_usa.htm, and a poster abstract from a recent EPA Science Forum is at: http://www.epa.gov/ord/scienceforum/PDFs/security/perlin_s.pdf The prototype work is currently being supported by USEPA's Office of Research and Development as well as DOE and DOD. Funding for the national data development has not yet been secured. The census data says there are 31000 residents, but of course at 11am on Monday, it is very different. Any ideas? .
