It's too confusing to have the meeting days change from month to month. Also our group needs to get together and decide which months we are meeting. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: HAWG meeting -Reply Author: ph-assess@u.washington.edu at smtpgate Date: 2/3/98 5:22 PM Elizabeth Ward's management team met today and discussed the conflict with HAWG for the video room. As I suspected, they are unable to change their meeting time. However, because they meet every other Tuesday and there are sometimes 5 Tuesdays in a month, they do not always meet on the 4th Tuesday. Therefore, I have booked the video room for March, July, August, and September. If they keep to the same schedule, we should also get it January and February 1999. (I'm told I can't reserve it for 1999 this early.) I have also asked for first refusal if they cancel a 4th Tuesday. My suggestion is to work with this schedule at least through the end of the year before discussing whether to change the meeting time for HAWG. I'd hate to have everyone juggle their schedules only to find that interest from Olympia drops off. There may be some talks that are of greater interest to the Olympia group than others. If there's flexibility in scheduling talks, perhaps, those talk could be given in the months with the video link. Also, for now the 3-way link is beyond the technical capacity of DOH. My limited technical understanding is that we actually have a dedicated phone line over which the signal travels. We are not doing relatively expensive satellite downlinking. HAWG is taking advntage of free (to us) infrastructure put in place by DOH. While I think more sophicated equipment allowing us to do a three-way hook up with Spokane would be great, it is beyond me to follow up on this. Perhaps, someone else will. P.S. Patti, can you sign us up at the lab for the months specified? .
