Washington State Legislative Internship Recruiter Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Interested in a PAID internship in Olympia with the Washington State Legislature for the 1999 session? Stop by WCG Atrium between 3 and 5 p.m. TODAY, October 13, to talk with a recruiter. Students from all programs are eligible. Internships begin January 6, with orientation and training prior to the opening of session on January 11, and end on April 25, 1999, the last day of the regular session. The legislative session internship program is a work-based education opportunity that provides college students with a hands-on, up-close view of the legislature's role, its process and its participants. The program also provides the Legislature with additional staff support. Students typically do legislative research, bill tracking, and constituent correspondence. Additionally, there are opportunities to attend public meetings and committee hearings, and interact with staff and legislators. A mutually beneficial working relationship between the legislative offices and interns is a goal of the internship program. Interns receive $1,000/month from the Legislature and course credit. The amount of credit to be earned and other academic requirements are determined by your academic program. For further information, visit the WCG Atrium between 3 and 5 p.m. TODAY or stop by Career Services, BHS 105. Application materials are due in Olympia on October 30, 1998. ************************************************************************* Judy Colburn Telephone: 253.692.4421 CAREER SERVICES Fax: 253.692.4414 UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON, TACOMA 1900 Commerce Street Http://www.tacoma.washington.edu/career Campus Box 358410 Tacoma, WA 98402-3100 .
