I have no inside information, but I assumed that "Polyphontes" was a bilingual pun, and meant "of many fonts" or perhaps "the man of many (type)faces". A relatively obscure pun, but surely suitable for the aenigmatic subject-matter of the announcement. Then again, maybe the inclusion of Thyestes led to thoughts of murder . . . .
