I am simply requesting access to information that someone seems to have that has not been posted to this list. What I can glean from the cryptic innuendo I have seen is that the Romance department will continue with two sub sections one in French-Italian literature and another in Spanish-Portugese literature while the linguists, whether French or Spanish will go to linguistics. I have not seen the announcement yet by Dunn or anyone else how this applies to Slavic. Are the linguists who are also language teachers going also to Linguistics along with the instruction in the various languages? Or are the theoretical linguists who have been regularly teaching courses in the Linguistics department going simply to continue doing so with a new affiliation? -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- jim augerot slavic dp-32 uw 98195 fax: 206-543-9285 tel: 206-543-6848 *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* .
