Glen:  A lot of people focus on the compatibility issue which for some 
programs is likely a good idea. However I was wondering if you did a 
structured evaluation to select ArcView? The process you went through to 
arrive at your conclusions would be useful to others who are trying to 
decide what to use or maybe just how to go about deciding.
