As you'll read this issue, you'll find that this time our survey questions will be posted here on INDEX-NW only. Please feel free to respond to the list and get a discussion going. This might be a good way for us to get to know fellow indexers with similar interests. I'll be gathering responses from the list and we'll post the results in the next newsletter. If you'd like to answer anonymously, print these questions and send the answers to me (PO Box below). If you'd like to answer but not to the list, send your responses to me personally (email address above). Okay, here we go..... -------------------------------- This time we'll focus on personality-related questions. I've observed some interesting patterns as I chat with and visit homes of indexing colleagues. I think you will be surprised by some of these answers. . If you collect anything, what do you collect? (I know some of you collect elephant-related objects, masks, and chopsticks.) . Did you ever receive musical training? If so, what instrument? Do you still play? . Do you use music while working to keep your adrenaline pumping? If so, (1) what kind of music and (2) what specific artists/composers do you listen to (please limit yourself to three bands/artists/composers)? . Do you use music to relax? If so, (1) what kind of music and (2) what specific artists/composers do you listen to (please limit yourself to three bands/artists/composers)? . Which of the following most closely matches your personality and motivations? 1. principled, orderly, and perfectionistic 2. caring, generous, and possessive 3. adaptable, ambitious, and image-conscious 4. intuitive, expressive, and self-absorbed 5. perceptive, original, and detached 6. engaging, committed, and defensive 7. enthusiastic, accomplished, and uninhabited 8. self-confident, decisive, and dominating 9. peaceful, reassuring, and complacent . What questions would you like to have us ask in this newsletter? -Kari ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Kari Kells, Newsletter Statistics Gal PNW Chapter American Society of Indexers indexwest@mindspring.com www.mindspring.com/~indexwest/ASI/ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ .
