It looks like some of their VMAPLV0 maps are more detailed than what you are showing on your website now. Maybe you have some of these data but just aren't showing them yet? Some of you may be unfamiliar with the NIMA geospatial engine. Different products cover different areas, so you have to check what they have for an area you're interested in. For example, click on the "Find" tab in the bottom frame, enter "Beregovo" for town and choose "Ukraine" from the drop-down list for country. Click on "Go!". Unless you chose "exact match" on the search screen, you'll need to select Beregovo from the list of close matches on the next screen. Zoom in to the lowest level on the scale to the right of the map. Note the RR line from NW to SE and the airport to the NW. Click on the View tab in the bottom frame, choose DOI-10 m (10 Meter Resolution Digital Orthorectified Imagery (DOI-10M) derived from data obtained from the SPOT Image Corporation under an unrestricted license) for product and Large for image size, then click on the Generate Image button. Can you see where the rail line comes into town? Looks like there are some dark fields parallel to a very straight right-of-way from 48.230 on the left edge to about 48.205 in town... And the airport is pretty clear in the right upper quadrant. The other two products for this area are DTED 0 and VMAPLV0. -----Original Message----- From: Richard Hoskins [mailto:healthmaps@home.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 31, 2001 10:55 AM To: WAPHGIS Subject: WAPHGIS: Afghanistan web mapping site Afghanistan mapping site. http://www.telemorphic.com/afghan.htm (recommend broadband) We are using all public domain data including low res DEM and medium res Landsat TM data, plus small scale vectors for roads, rivers, boundaries, populated places. We would like to find some DRG's (scanned and georeference Russian maps at 1:200K). Since this is a FREE site, we would like someone to donate a few of these maps...however, we could put a link on the launch page for whoever donates this data. It's definitely a work in progress, so looking for some constructive feedback.
