As for Joe's question, Whatcom's international rates are the same as = non-resident rates. =20 Janelle Miner, Registrar Whatcom Community College 237 W. Hello, I have a student who originally came to Washington on J1 visa (exchange student) in Aug 2002. She stays in Washington and leases a house - = obtains 'right to work status' (soc sec card) - gets a drivers license - gets married and applies (pays fee) for permanent residency. She has held a = job, purchased a vehicle and opened a bank account. She has done all of this before Sept 2003. (She does not attend school during this time - it = appears she used the visa to leave Russia) Now she waits for her green card and wants to continue with school. I = have proof of residency application and copy of money order to INS. Can she qualify for non-resident tuition vs. international tuition while still holding the J1 visa? Thanks for your input Leslie .
