I'm using FreeBSD 4.6 to set up a firewall. This box has two Intel Pro
100+ Ethernet adapters (uses the fxp driver). They are, fxp0 and fxp1.
When I Installed the system from the cdrom using the setup utility, I
configured both adapters with addresses. However, only one of them
(fxp0) is actually assigned an Ethernet address. If I run ifconfig, I am
presented with this output:

As you can see from the above, fxp1 is missing the line that sets up the
address, netmask, broadcast, etc. I am not sure if there is something
special needed when using two identical Ethernet controllers because I
have always used two different controllers. If anyone has any ideas or
solutions that's be just peachy!!
