Prog. in Conservation Biology Policy Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Hi Shane, Finally getting back to you about your proposed courses for the Certificate Program in Conservation Biology Policy. Sorry for the delay. The Steering Committee met this past Tuesday, April 6th and your statement was discussed. Most of your proposed courses look good, but the Committee decided not to approve PB AF 577 Risk Assessment as an elective. The language on the web page is not clear (we'll be fixing it soon), but students are supposed to take only those courses that are listed under capstone or core areas. Meaning, the 'additional elective courses' students need to make up the 21 credits should come from those courses already listed as capstones or core area courses. Also, the Zoology 530/531 courses may not always be offered together. The 'must be taken concurrently' statement is another mistake on the web page. So, depending on when you take the course, it might only be 530 that is offered. In that case, the class will still count as your capstone, but it will only be worth 3 credits. So, it looks like you may need two more courses to make up the 21 credits needed. Please let Alice or I know if you have any questions. Great to have you in the program!
