Thank-you. Hospital Referral Intern: In coordination with the Foundation Director, this intern will work with hospital staff and administration to improve the referral practices for abortion and other reproductive healthcare. This is an important project that has the possibility to dramatically improve the lives of women, especially rural women. Abortion Access Network (AAN) Intern: AAN is a network of volunteers that provide rides and "homestays" for women needing to travel to Seattle for an abortion. There is only one other network, in the US, that provides this assistance with volunteers. This intern will assist in the coordination of the program and assist in compiling a "start up kit" to be distributed to other groups across the country that may want to start a similar network. Medicaid Project Intern: This intern needs to be familiar with Washington DSHS. She will produce a "how to" with easy to follow directions on how to apply for Medicaid, a directory of all the services this includes, how to access these services (specific to abortion) as well as research the area restaurants and hotels to find all that accept Medicaid coupons. Abortion Access Awareness Intern: This intern will prepare for WA NARAL's large educational campaign during Abortion Access Awareness Month in October. Ideally this intern will be here through October. Crisis Pregnancy Clinic Intern: this intern will help expose the large number of Crisis Pregnancy Clinics that are the "provider" arm of the anti-choice movement.
