I would like to ask those of you who have race on the track before (or plan to), a favor... Sorry for the group listing, if you don't meet the above criteria then you know where the "D" key is... Anyway, you'll get the point from the letter below. I want to add more mass start events to track nationals, and I need your help. If I can get letters from riders expressing interest in more events then I think I can present a convincing arguement at the next board of directors meeting. You don't even have to planning on racing this year, they don't know that. So if you can forward this to anyone you think might be interested in helping me out then please do so. "fun" ... huh? Thanks for the inquiry about nationals. I am very simpathetic. I too would like to see more mass start events at nationals myself. I'm going to petition to add an event to the schedule at the next NCCA board of directors meeting in June. What I need to make a convincing arguement is letters from people like you. If the riders want it, then I think I can get at least one event back. I am going to try to get either the Madison or the Miss'n'out back on the schedule. I've talked to USA Cycling and their concerns are that: a) the schedule is too tough -- I disagree b) they want the event to be more team oriented If these are there only criteria then I think I can get the madison back. I might even get crazy and ask for a mixed (men with women) madison, just to stress the fact that it is a team event. So, your mission if you choose to accept it. Is to try and get some of your friends to write me some more letters, which I will forward to the NCCA and present at the next meeting. It will make my job a lot easier. Otherwise it may look as though I'm adding another event just for revenue, when I really just want the opportunity to have more races!
