Message-Id: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII To: CIVE Faculty, Students, Staff If you plan to use a computer and projection equipment for a class presentation, please consider the following steps for a successful presentation: - Check the online Computer Equipment Reservations. You can use UWIN, >Internet Resources, >Lynx (or any web browser). Look at: http://weber.u.washington.edu/~cive/sch.Computers.html - Contact me a week before your presentation is scheduled. Send email to: mramey@u.washington.edu Provide complete details: Date, Starting & Ending Time, Room, etc. Allow time for setup and return of the equipment. - Plan for a trial run if you have never used the equipment before. I can help you schedule a room for this trial run, and for your final presentation. The trial run should be at least one day before your final presentation, in case there are problems. - If you are using your own (laptop) computer, bring the computer manual with you; be sure you know how to direct video output to the connector on the rear of the computer. - Prepare overhead-projector transparencies or photocopied handouts in case the computer system fails during your presentation. The handouts can be useful for your audience even if the computer works. - If you have any questions, send me email. --Mike Ramey .
