a long awaited upgrade to the troublesome sz/rz routines will be
installed this wednesday 11/09/94 on all uniform access machines
with the following exception described below.

this is version 3.38 and has a release date of june 1994.  this version
has been tested successfully by me and two other interested users. 
testing included up and downloading a 2 file batch of a good sized binary 
and a ascii file on all platforms (i.e. AIX, OSF, ultrix, dynix).

with the exception of sz on carson, all tests were very succesful. 
therefore sz will not be upgraded on carson at this time.  rz will still
be upgraded because of significant performance improvements.
