Cudlipp" , Subject: Equipment Checkout Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII There have been some recent problems with the Sharp check-outs and misunderstandings in which students are coming to the Main Office at the last minute to pick up this equipment and get instructions on its use. There have also been similar situations with our digital cameras. Here is some clarification for you to keep in mind if you plan to use these pieces of equipment. 1. While the Sharp Projector reservations are made thru Mike Ramey, he only works in the mornings. If you have not used the Sharp before, please make arrangements with Mike (well in advance) for him to set up a time to run through the setup and operations with you. Unfortunately, Main Office staff are not able to assist you with the operations of this projector. 2. The Sharp Projector does not come with a laptop. You must use your own or make your own arrangements to borrow one from someone else. The Dept. currently does not have any laptops available for students to check out. 3. The Sharp Projector is kept locked in the A-V closet in More 220. Someone from More 201 can unlock the door for you, but there may be a class going on in there, so plan ahead. 4. The two digital cameras (Kodak and Hitachi) are kept in More 201. Main Office staff can reserve and check out, but they are not experts and can't provide training in using them. There is a manual to both of them; if you need additional assistance with the use of the cameras, email help@ce.washington.edu ahead of time and arrange for a training session. 5. For all equipment checkout, if you have not used the equipment before, please plan ahead and possibly schedule a run-through to ensure you are comfortable with the equipment. Best, Dori .
