Graduate Students" Subject: REMINDER: Faculty Seminar Talk - Today at 12:30 Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Tim Larson's faculty seminar talk is today at 12:30 in More 221 (free cookies, bring your lunch). Please make every effort to attend. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend due to a College Committee obligation, but we are hoping for a big turn out as this faculty seminar series continues to get off the ground. The talk is: Title: Air Pollution and Asthma Aggravation: Research experiences from a 3-year study in Spokane, Washington Abstract: Epidemiological studies of the association between air pollution and health have gained recent attention nationwide because of EPA's re-evaluation of the airborne particulate matter standards. Do air pollutants actually cause adverse health effects? If so, what pollutants are the most important and what are the effects? Why is an engineer involved in health effects research anyway? This study in Spokane will hopefully contribute some answers to these questions. It is a collaborative effort between the Departments of Civil Engineering at both the UW and WSU as well as the Department of Environmental Health at the UW.
