The information site is currently available by going to http://depts.washington.edu/commence. This site fully answers any questions that a student or advisor may have. Web Registration/Ordering All students wishing to participate in the Husky Stadium ceremony must register/order tickets, parking passes and rent apparel via the Commencement web site by May 13th. Before students can register/order on the Commencement site they must first ensure they meet the graduation eligibility requirements below, including completion of any graduation forms with the Graduate School. Links to the Commencement registration/order form will be available May 1st - May 13th. Eligibility to Participate Masters students who earned a degree during one of the following quarters; Summer 2000, Autumn 2000, Winter 2001, or have completed the Graduate Schools on-line Masters Request To Graduate Form for Spring 2001 or Summer 2001 are eligible. Students expecting to complete Summer 2001, who wish to participate in the ceremony, must complete the Masters Request to Graduate Form for Summer Quarter, April 7th through April 20th, before going to the Commencement web registration form. Please note that only students who wish to participate in the Commencement Ceremony need to complete the Summer Quarter Masters Form by April 20th. Students who do not wish to participate in the ceremony should complete the form according to the standard Graduate School recommendations. Doctoral students who earned a degree during one of the following quarters; Summer 2000, Autumn 2000, Winter 2001, or who expect to complete Spring 2001, or Summer 2001 are eligible. Those students completing Spring or Summer 2001, who wish to participate in the ceremony, should register/order via the Commencement web. The Graduate School will review the Commencement registration and give final approval on ceremony participation. If not approved by the Graduate School the student will be notified and the money for cap and gown will be refunded. If students do not hear from us, or the Graduate School, by May 18th they should assume they have been approved to participate. Purchasing Apparel vs. Renting If doctoral students wish to purchase their Ph.D. regalia to wear in the Husky Stadium ceremony, instead of renting, they should contact the University Bookstore for pricing and ordering information prior to April 13th. The gowns are custom made so if they are not ordered by the 13th there is no guarantee it will be here in time for participation in the Husky Stadium ceremony. Students who purchase apparel will still need to register/order tickets, etc. via the Commencement registration/order form on the web site. The site will ask for their apparel measurements, which they should provide regardless of purchase so that we will have their information on file. Since payment is only made once for apparel at the University Bookstore students will not be double charged. Your Steps To A Great Commencement Day Husky Stadium - June 9, 2001 1.
