The information packets are not available, yet. If you want one send me an e-mail to request it. The cost of the class is around $180 plus gear and travel expenses. For ESAR members, the gear expense is probably minimal. In addition to hiking clothes and pack, you'll need crampon compatible boots (full to 1/2 shank), ice ax, helmet, harness and glacier glasses. Don't buy new gear until it is discussed in class lectures. There will be discount coupons from some of the stores, too. There will be ample opportunities to car pool and share gas expenses. There is almost always the option to stop for dinner at the end of the outing. --------------D421F6A29A6A7829F08C3447 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Received: from smtp02.nwnexus.com (smtp02.nwnexus.com [198.137.231.18]) by mail3.halcyon.com (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id SAA21728 for ; Mon, 10 Jan 2000 18:01:04 -0800 (PST) Received: from blv-smtpout-01.boeing.com (blv-smtpout-01.boeing.com [192.161.36.5]) by smtp02.nwnexus.com (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id SAA00525 for ; Mon, 10 Jan 2000 18:01:03 -0800 Received: from blv-av-01.boeing.com ([192.54.3.60]) by blv-smtpout-01.boeing.com (8.9.2/8.8.5-M2) with ESMTP id SAA25041 for ; Mon, 10 Jan 2000 18:01:02 -0800 (PST) Received: from blv-hub-01.boeing.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by blv-av-01.boeing.com (8.9.2/8.9.2) with ESMTP id SAA14229 for ; Mon, 10 Jan 2000 18:01:01 -0800 (PST) Received: from xch-pssbh-01.ca.boeing.com by blv-hub-01.boeing.com with ESMTP for deandjh@halcyon.com; Mon, 10 Jan 2000 18:00:57 -0800 Received: by xch-pssbh-01.ca.boeing.com with Internet Mail Service (5.5.2448.0) id ; Mon, 10 Jan 2000 18:00:57 -0800 Message-Id: <71D105274EA7D011905700805FFECA5904506560@xch-sea-10.ca.boeing.com> From: "Holloway, Joyce R" To: "'deandjh@halcyon.com'" Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2000 18:00:54 -0800 MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Internet Mail Service (5.5.2448.0) Content-Type: text/plain X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000 Info For BOEALPS Y2000 Basic Mountaineering Class for Poster Contacts General Class Schedule: Orientation: Feb. 29 Tuesday @ 7:00 p.m. at Oxbow Rec Ctr Room 201 First Class: March 8th 7:00-9:30 p.m. Classes every Wednesday night from March 8th to June 14th Weekend Outings: St. Edwards Basic Skills - March 18, 19 Mt Erie Rock Climbing - March 25, 26 Stevens Pass Ice Axe - April 1, 2 Snoqualmie Experience Climb - April 8, 9 1st Overnighter - April 15 - 16 Easter - No outing 2nd Overnighter - April 29, 30 Leavenworth Basic Anchors - May 6, 7 Tatoosh Experience Climb - May 13, 14 Crevasse Rescue - May 20, 21 Memorial Day - No Outing 1st Graduation Climb / Trail Maint. - June 3 - 4 2nd Graduation Climb/ Trail Maint. - June 10 - 11 All outings are 1 day except the overnighters on April 15-16 / April 29-30, and June 3-4 / Jun 10-11.
