Information on archiving and daily digest will be included in the welcome file. 3. Lee has created a CampusQ home page. It will be available to those who have subscribed to CampusQ. Details of access are included in the subscription welcome file. CAMPUS ISSUES: Brief summaries will be prepared for selected campus gay/lesbian issues to inform the campus community. These summaries will be available on the CampusQ website as well as via e-mail. The issues include: 1. health insurance (Tina?) 2. housing (Tina) 3. IMA review (Steve & Ted) 4. gay/lesbian studies (Al & Michael). Each summary will consist of following sections: 1. background & administration policy 2. philosophical stands on the issue 3. actions taken/being planned 4. latest update 5. author of the summary and any personal involvement on the issue Other issues/ideas to be covered in the future: 1. role models 2. helping students fit in 3. mentoring outreach 4. custody issues 5. outside-of-campus activism/current events 6. queer community contact info For those who are interested in helping out: if you see any issues that you might be interested in or have informations to pass on, please let either Lee or Jason know. We can always use more help, even on the issues that have already been assigned. NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY (Oct 11): To announce CampusQ on campus, GBLC will be contacted regarding printing promotional materials. Lee will also prepare a short announcement on the webpage on National Coming Out Day events. With the new quarter, additional announcements will be send out to inform about the list: 1. e-mail announcements to all student activities group at around the end of October (Jason and Michael) 2. BOHGOF 3. Med students' group (Stonewall) 4. Law students' group 5. Business students' group (contact Ken Schulman?) 6. Queer Dawg (need to find the new contact person) CAMPUS ISSUES UPDATE: Domestic Partner Health Insurance: Tina will talk with Nan, the GPSS president. Lee brought up that by formally filing a complaint, we probably could avoid the bureaucratic loop of having to find out who had the authority to change the insurance policy. The research would be done by the university as a part of the response to the complaint. Tina might make a good case, but we probably need to coordinate more cases. Anyone interested (and eligible) to file a complaint is urged to get in touch with CampusQ. We are aiming to get the action going around the beginning of the quarter. GBLT Studies: Michael and Al will be collaborating on the questionaires for the departments on the gay/lesbian course content. The questionaire should ask 1) who has the final saying in approving courses, and 2) how courses, concentrations, or majors are developed. Michael and Al will begin selecting departments and start posting to CampusQ on what their research. Alumni Organization: Individuals interested in getting involved please contact Lee . The next CampusQ meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept 25, 5:30 pm at Espresso Roma on the Ave. As usual, all interested active queers are welcome! See you all on CampusQ! .
