SALARY RANGE: Monthly $2,982 - $5,404; Annually $35,784 - $64,848 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates outdoor skills workshops for instructors and the public; coordinates site logistics, instructor selection, equipment maintenance, registration and publicity; plans, coordinates and administers Becoming an Outdoorswoman and similar skills programs for families and other target groups; develops partnerships with Bass Pro Shops and other statewide organizations to develop and conduct various outdoor skills training programs, including backpacking, fishing, camping, etc.; coordinates development of outdoor skills materials; writes or contracts for the writing of new outdoor skills modules; edits and coordinates review of new modules; develops teaching aids to support instructional materials; coordinates outdoor skills program within the Division and throughout the Department, including representing Department at regional and national meetings, conferences, workshops, and training Division and Department staff on current trends, issues and techniques relating to outdoor ethics and skills; develops teaching kits for outdoor skills courses and workshops; evaluates state-of-the-art equipment for purchase recommendations for Division field staff; coordinates statewide purchases for maximum fiscal benefit; establishes and chairs a committee to oversee outdoor skills program development including agency staff and cooperating organizations; serves as liaison with other Divisions and agencies for input into the outdoor skills program; coordinates closely with Protection Division and Hunter Education Program staff and volunteers; coordinates with Planning personnel for the development of outdoors skills education surveys and focus groups; reviews surveys to keep program content appropriate for public demand or need; provides technical advice and participates in the development of aquatic education workshops, urban fishing programs and fishing clinics statewide; and performs other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Resource Management, Outdoor Education, Interpretation or other related fields and three (3) years of professional teaching, interpretation or outdoors skills experience. Related education and experience may substitute for the Master's Degree.
