I know many of you are in the Band and will be going to the Holiday Bowl, and many of you not in the band will be going as well. I also know that some of you may attend the Jeep Seattle Bowl just for the fun of seeing a football game in Safeco Field. For those of you looking for another option (or something to do in addition), I would like to formally invite you to come down to Boise and watch the H-Bowl. Louisiana Tech has already accepted their bid as the WAC Champions. La. Tech has a high-powered offense and is the alma mater of QB Tim Rattay of the 49ers and WR Troy Edwards of the Steelers. Their opponent will be an at-large team, and currently, according to the H-Bowl website, it will be either UCLA, Clemson, or Ole' Miss. Any of these opponents would be great to watch live: We all hate UCLA and what they did to the Dawgs this year, so we could cheer against them; Clemson features Woodrow Dantzler, who became the first college player in history to throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 in a season this year; and Ole' Miss features Eli Manning, Peyton's little brother (and Archie's younger son) and is the team that played that super-OT marathon vs. Arkansas earlier this season. For those of you with jobs and money who would like to fly, Several airlines (Alaska/Horizon, Southwest, etc.) have direct flights between Boise and Seattle (it's about an hour and a half flight), that are fairly inexpensive ($98-150 roundtrip depending on when you get them, I paid $106 when I was up last weekend), and Jen and I would have no problem caravaning from the airport to our place. For those, like me, who are broke and enjoy a good road trip, it is about an 8-hour drive from Seattle to Boise (freeway all the way), and I'd be happy to set you up with directions. At any rate, anyone who is interested is more than welcome to crash at our place (we have two couches, an inflatable mattress, plenty of floor space, and a hot tub, too). Tickets are anywhere from $12.50 to $33.00 depending on where you sit, and they have group rates for the good seats ($30 each for a group of 10-25). Additionally, one of my buddies down here has a hook-up with some pre-game tailgate action, so it should be a blast. Believe it or not, Boise is actually pretty fun! Anyway, if anyone is interested, drop me a line and we'll coordinate. If you have other plans or your not interested, that's cool, too, I just wanted to put it out there. For more info on the H-Bowl, check out their website at http://www.humanitarianbowl.org peace out. MERZ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
