Hi..well, English Camp is well under way...we have a bunch of rowdy kids learning english and eating our food!! haha...it's ok...they're so cute! Yesterday after the Thai kid's class it was pouring rain...the three of us wern't watching them after class and i guess no one realized that the bus drivers had forgotton to come to pick up the kids and take them back to the slums.. We just said goodbye to the kids and assumed that the drivers would take them home as usual. As I was leaving yesterday for dinner in a taxi I noticed about of my tiny students soaking wet on a street corner piling into a taxi!! How horrified was I?! VERY! It was "freezing" outside and the rain falls so hard you can easily get bruises, plus they have no money whatsoever! I didnt realize the impact of what had happened until today one of the pastors here pulled me aside and asked me why I hadnt taken the kids home. I didnt really know where they lived just that they lived in one of the slum areas... She told me that she had gotton a lot of angry complaints from the parents about our geniune care for these kids...I FELT SO BAD! many of them came home sniffling and with colds from standing out soaked in the rain for so long. She told me that even though my teaching ended when classes got out my job lasted until I went home this month...I couldnt argue with that. I just hope I can make it up to the kids today... Today I learned that our job's as christ's ministers is to go beyond the normal boundries of care...thinking of others before yourself is difficult but it's a dicipline I have to learn...and I'm honored that the Lord would teach that to me here.. Well...even though we should make mistakes here...with prayer we'll learn from them....pray with us!
