EVENT NOTICE:

Today's medical students are about to become part of a health care system i=
n
which 41 million Americans do not have health insurance.
The impact is felt on the nation=E2=80=99s economy and health care system, =
as well as
in the communities in which we live. Not having health insurance is a leadi=
ng
cause of personal bankruptcy. Moreover, the large number of uninsured
patients often overwhelms hospital emergency rooms and other health
facilities. Come hear a wide-ranging discussion about the state of the
uninsured in this country and in Washington state, as well as the future of
the health care system.

What:    A panel discussion about the current conditions of the uninsured a=
nd
the direction we're going in. Does it have to get worse before it gets
better?

When:  Tuesday, March 11-- 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Where:  Hogness Auditorium, Room A420, at the Health Sciences Center

A light buffet will be served following the panel discussion
