WHERE: RAINIER COMMUNITY CENTER, 4600 38TH AVE. SOUTH, SEATTLE The Public-Private Partnership Task Force will be holding a public workshop on Saturday, May 8th to encourage citizen comment on their work to date. The Task Force was established by Mayor Schell and Council President Sue Donaldson to recommend standards for future public-private partnerships with the City of Seattle. SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS. RSVP TO SARA LEVIN (206) 221-3026, OR EMAIL slevin@u.washington.edu ************************************************************ Public-private partnerships have become common in cities of all sizes. Recognizing this, and the wide variety of citizen viewpoints on what types of partnerships may be appropriate, Mayor Schell and Seattle City Council President Sue Donaldson established the Public-Private Partnership Task Force. They asked this group of 19 citizens to recommend standards for future public-private partnerships with the City of Seattle. Since November 1998, the group has heard from public and private sector speakers with a variety of viewpoints on partnerships, and discussed such topics as ways in which levels of public benefit can be determined and citizen review can be guaranteed. The Task Force has not yet determined its recommendations, and is aggressively seeking the input of neighborhood organizations, business owners, and other interested parties. To encourage public comment on these issues, the Task Force has planned a public working session for Saturday, May 8th, at the Rainier Community Center. If you are unable to attend the Public Working Session and would like to share your thoughts or get more information on the group's work to date, please contact Sara Levin at (206) 221-3026 or e-mail slevin@u.washington.edu.
