Dear unknown list subscribers out there on the internet:

I'm sending this message to inform you about a study abroad program 
offered this summer by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. 
It involves 5 weeks in Quito, Ecuador, and is a real bargain.It is NOT 
necessary to speak Spanish to apply for this program.

Specifically, those likely to be interested are students in the Spanish
and Biology departments.

Total cost of the trip is around $2350, which includes:

        Round trip air fare from Miami
        Room, meals and laundry (students stay with a family)
        6 credit hours
         
Please note that there is NO DIFFERENCE in the tuition for out-of-state
students, since their credit will be coming from the Universidad San
Francisco de Quito.

There are 2 optional packages

TROPICAL ECOLOGY UNIT $350: INCLUDES 2 WEEKS IN AMAZONIA, 1 WEEK ON THE 
COAST, 2 DAYS IN CLOUD FOREST, 1 DAY IN TUNDRA. TAUGHT IN ENGLISH.


Galapagos option: $850-900 5 days & 4 nights in Galapagos

Courses are offered in beginning, intermediate and advanced Spanish;
Latin American "boom" literature; Art History; and (taught in English):
Anthropology (People of the Andes) and Latin American History.


Departure: May 23
Return:  July 2 (later for those taking the Galapagos trip)
