But I will still explain further more about this formula by because of Joyce's request (btw, This formula was created by Clausqitz, but I got this from my History 212 text book). What this Formula means in English is that War Real equals War Absolute as modified by friction (chance) as modified by Politics. First, War Absolute means the very essence of the act of war which is basically an act of violence. Ultimately, War Abesolute is to destroy your enemies forces and force them to bend to your will. Second, friction (chance) is that war is modified by human choice or action. So war can be altered by human choice, error, oversights, what happenes in battles, etc. Last, Politics means that war is modeified by political aims which the armies serve. Therefore, war is created by the act of violence, changed by human choice, determined by the government of the state. Does that clear it up? I would guess mental friction and FOW would fit into the friction aspect of this formula... But from what Christine said, I don't think anyone should hate war until they actually served in one, which hopefully I will in the not to distant future... This also brings up a topic we can discuss, if war is bad, why did God encourage it? Yes, I know I will be flamed because Mark gave me a sort of long lecture about it and I can be mis-interpeting the Bible, but He did say attack these people, etc... And don't worry, I will not be hurt if you say something bad (if you are one of those anti-war people). Sorry for the long e-mail... Sincerly, Andrew Kim .
