Bethea" To: apo@u.washington.edu Subject: Racial Legacies and Learning Attention Alpha Phi Omega: We are inviting the members of your organization to participate in Racial Legacies and Learning, a project sponsored by the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) in collaboration with the Seattle Chamber of Commerce and the Comparative History of Ideas program at the University of Washington. This October, using a model created by the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, we will be launching a series of dinners around the theme of racial/ethnic understandings. The program is based on a simple principle: bringing a diverse group of people to the dinner table and giving them a chance to talk openly about their own lives with respect to issues of race. These dinners, hosted at individual homes, will have ten to twelve people attending from diverse professions and backgrounds. We are seeking individuals interested in either being a dinner guest or a host at one of these functions. If you are interested please forward your mailing address so that we can send you a formal letter describing how you can participate. Or feel free to call us at 543-7333. Sincerely, Tara Bethea ******************************** Racial Legacies and Learning Project Comparative History of Ideas email: tbethea@u.washington.edu phone: 543-7333 ******************************** .
