This has allowed us to make some changes about how the list operates: 1) The digests are now issued daily at midnight local time, and archived so that if you miss something (because of vacation, mail problems, etc.) you can retrieve it from the archives. 2) By starting an archive, other information can be placed there as well. For example, if you want to make a list of all the National Championships won by Pac Ten schools in any sport, we can save it for posterity and make it generally available to all of us. If you are interested in making up something for the archives, please ask me about it so that we can avoid duplication of efforts. Besides, you need a list-owner to place something into the archives for you. 3) The new software allows you to change your mailing address, which is useful those of you who either a) switch service providers, or b) have email addresses that are different for receiving and sending mail. 4) As requested by several of you, the new default for replies will be to send mail to the sender rather than the entire list. For help on retrieving things from the archives (or anything else for that matter), send email to the listproc program at listproc@u.washington.edu with the message: help and *nothing else* in the body of the message. You can get help on individual topics by including the topic name after the word help in the message. -- Cliff Slaughterbeck | crs@u.washington.edu Dept. of Physics, FM-15 | ---------------------------------------- University of Washington | "They call it stormy Monday, but Seattle, WA 98195 | Tuesday's just as bad."-- T-Bone Walker .
