Hi All,

Hope finals are going well for you all!  If you're looking for something
great to do outside this winter, I'd suggest volunteering at the Promontory
Point Urban Habitat Enhancement Project --
http://www.seattleaudubon.org/conservation/pr_promontory_point.html -- out
at Magnuson Park (that's at Sand Point, near UW, along the western shore of
Lake Washington).  Typical work involves planting, mulching, trail-building,
and removing non-native invasive plants.  The work parties are from 10am to
3pm (go for just a couple hours, if you like) on the following dates:

Sunday, Dec. 10
Thursday, Dec 21
Sunday, January 14
Thursday, January 18

Currently, this is not an official APO event, but I'm sure you can count the
hours.  There's no need to sign up, just show up and help out.  See their
web page for more details.
