If you are interested in talking about service learning and sociology with other interested colleagues, I want to make you aware of an informal roundtable discussion taking place at the annual meetings. When: Monday, August 14th at 8:30am Where: Marriott Wardman Park Table #: 11 Organizers: Brenda Marsteller Kowalewski and Morten G. Ender Under the general topical discussion of service-learning and sociology we hope to address such issues as: 1)where the discipline and service learning have been; 2)where the discipline and service learning are going; 3) evaluate some of the resources available to sociologists interested in service learning (the ASA collection of s-l syllabi in particular); 4)what you are doing with s-l and sociology; and 5)other issues of interest to the table participants. We are hoping this experience will be a sharing of ideas among fellow sociologists who are also committed to service-learning as pedagogy. I look forward to meeting you in DC.
