Wait no longer--Metro has released its public information report describing details of all route changes that start September 19. You can access the full text of this report at http://transit.metrokc.gov/bus/bulletins/north/north1.html. Metro is also mailing copies to some residents in the North Seattle area. The UW Transportation Office is pleased with most of the resulting route changes, and feel that they reflect the MAJORITY of concerns expressed by UW riders to the various proposals presented by Metro (but because route usefulness is personally decided, be sure to check for any changes affecting your route). Our office was involved throughout the proposal process, including a having staff representative on the citizen's planning committee, giving testimony at the King County Transportation Committee, and soliciting comments from UW riders and relaying them to Metro planners. This public feedback process also prompted creation of this transportation newsgroup, a forum that we hope will continue the public dialogue on transportation issues. Please let us know if you have any questions about the upcoming Metro changes. Contact the Transportation Office directly at upass@u.washington.edu or contact Metro at tracy.overby@metrokc.gov. Thank you. The Transportation Office .
