(We are in the process of reviewing our procedures as they relate to HECB requirements given to Financial Aid.) *student has been coded a 1/01 in the SMS-based on the answer s/he provided on the Application for Admission or registration form *on the financial aid application, student discloses s/he has a driver's license from another state; a W-2 listing another state, etc. This "flags" the file, makes the student ineligible for the Grant and Financial Aid notifies that Admissions Office. Do you receive referrals like this from your FAO and, if so, what kind of followup does your office do? i.e. is the student required to go through the formal residency process, provide all the necessary documents with a resulting determination abou his/her residency status? or, does the student need only to change the document identified to Washington? What happens to currently enrolled students determined to be non-residents after the review-are they billed for non-resident fees for the quarter or left as is and changed to a 2/02 for future quarters? Thanks for your input! Cindy Burbank, Coordinator of Admissions, Pierce College .
