She is currently on leave and will remain so until retirement. She is not (and has not been) stationed in Washington. She graduated from a CA high school in 1978 and immediately joined the service; most recently she has been stationed in New Mexico. Her driver's license is issued from the state of WA, but under expiration date it says "MIL" and there is a statement on it that says "VOID 90 DAYS AFTER DISCHARGE." Her vehicle is registered in New Mexico. She purchased a building lot (1/2 owned by her mother) in Washington in 1995. Her leave & earnings statement showed that her paychecks were direct-deposited into a Washington bank for the last year and she has provided proof that she opened the account in 1995. Has she established an intent to retire in the State of Washington and can I classify her as a resident for spring quarter? Thanks for your advice. Janelle Miner, Registrar Whatcom Community College .
