This is to enable the new fixes to get some test mileage. The new scheduled date of installation is Wednesday, August 17th 1994. 2) The installation target has also been changed from all uniform access machines to all *non-restricted* uniform access machine. i.e. carson and homer cluster machines will *not* be affected by this change. A separate announcement by Donn Cave will be made for carson and homer. 3) Therefore, to post system wide messages after the 17th, use the new routines for the "galaxy" but use the old, existing routines for carson/homer until the updated routine is installed on those machines. 4) Once again, the production versions of the new routines will be installed as "/usr/local/bin/msgs" and /usr/local/bin/Pmsgs". The test names of "uwmsgs" and "Puwmsgs" will be discarded. Please continue to test the new program during this time and encourage others to do so. All posted test messages will not be seen by users (unless they specifically cd to the new msgs directory) Eliot Lim .
