(Phone numbers with more than 7 digits may still occur, where the area code is not 206 or there's an extension.) - The alternate phone number will be included when there is one. It will be listed second, separated by a comma and a space. My red account has a "staffdir" program that shows this new format, so I encourage interested parties to run ~donn/staffdir last-name on red. The primary undesirable effect of these changes will be more frequent line-wrapping, as the extra phone number makes the line longer. It will be put into service by changing the staffdir.u service address, which I expect to ask for Thursday Oct 26. If anyone has ``hard-coded'' the IP address for staffdir.u, it will have to be changed. Donn Cave, University Computing Services, University of Washington donn@u.washington.edu .
